Testing Aerospace Materials Applied Plasma Technologies, Corp. (APT) addresses the growing demand for cost-effective facilities to test thermal protection materials (TPMs) with our commercially available RF plasma systems: APT-100/125 and APT-250. Both systems operate across a wide range of conditions, from vacuum to elevated pressures up to 7 bar. They feature replaceable water-cooled nozzles and can be integrated with custom vacuum chambers. For higher power requirements, we also offer the APT-480 and APT-1000 systems. Our high-pressure torch operation enables the generation of supersonic flow in both open-air and vacuum chamber conditions. We are the only company offering such a broad range of operational parameters. Recent innovation - Dual-Torch approach allows efficient operation of two extended-pressure-range plasma torches powered by one power source, enabling seamless transitions between open-air tests for high heat flux and vacuum tests for high Mach number conditions. This flexible design optimizes testing conditions for a wide range of aerospace materials and applications. Starting in January 2024, we offer short-term leases of our 1,000 sq ft laboratory, equipped with either the APT-110 or APT-250 systems, specifically designed for TPM testing. APT-480 is also available. These systems are compatible with various gases and gas blends. Click to view the demo. We also provide access to our expert staff and prototyping machine shop for comprehensive support. For an in-depth discussion of our RF plasma testing facilities, refer to the paper by I.B. Matveev, Inductively Coupled Plasma Facilities for Testing Thermal Protection Materials, published in IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science, vol. 50, no. 6, pp. 1644-1648, June 2022.
